中国科学院数学与系统科学研究院博士。中国科学院自动化研究所博士后。现为河北工业大学人工智能与数据科学学院教授、博士生导师。近年来，陶跃钢教授主要在离散事件系统、非线性系统、代数及其应用等领域从事研究工作。在《IEEE Transactions and Automatic Control》、《Systems & ControlLetters》、《International Journal of Control》、《Journal of Global Optimization》、《Mathematics of Control, Signals, and Systems》、《Nonlinear Analysis》、《IEEE Communications Letters》、《中国科学》等期刊上发表论文70余篇。出版教学用书12本。多次参与和主持国家攀登计划、国家自然科学基金、中国科学院创新国际合作计划等项目的研究工作。部分论文：
