研究方向
1. 长江珍稀特有鱼类的保护生物学研究。
基于长期的野外监测和文献调研数据，利用种群动态模型、种群生存力分析等方法，分析种群的变化趋势、种群增长率、最小可存活种群大小、灭绝风险等种群动态特征，评价环境因素、生态和生物学特征、人类活动对种群变化的影响，探索如何有效开展鱼类资源的保护。
2. 鱼类群落结构特征和构建机制。
采用稳态转换、集合群落等分析方法，研究长江上下游以及湖泊的鱼类群落结构的变化特征，评价环境对鱼类群落结构的影响，探索鱼类群落构建机制。

科研成果
基于长期的监测和调查数据，解析长江干支流及通江湖泊的鱼类群落结构变化特征以及构建机制，评估中华鲟等长江珍稀特有鱼类的种群动态以及种群生存力，掌握长江上游特有鱼类的生物学特征，深入了解长江鱼类资源的变化特征，并以此为长江鱼类例，探索鱼类多样性变化对人类活动影响的响应机制，为长江大保护提供了科学依据。担任Scientific Reports、Frontiers in Ecology and Evolution、PeerJ等国际期刊的审稿人，发表50余篇，其中SCI论文30余篇。
