向道平，男，博士，博士后，教授，研究员，博士生导师，海南省“南海名家”人选，海南省领军人才，国家自然科学基金通信评审专家，广西、山东科学技术奖评审专家，广东、陕西科技项目评审专家，中国材料研究学会青年委员会第七至九届理事会常务理事，中国材料研究学会多孔材料分会委员。目前为海南大学材料科学与工程学院材料系教师，南海海洋资源利用国家重点实验室固定研究人员。
主要从事金属合金、金属陶瓷、先进陶瓷、低维材料、固废资源化等材料先进制备技术及相关理论研究工作。近年主持国家自然科学基金、中国博士后基金首批特别资助金、中国博士后基金一等面上资助金、海南省自然科学基金、企业横向合作项目等多项课题，并作为主要研究人员参与多项国家973计划、863计划等重要课题的研究。目前已发表学术论文近70篇（第一及通信作者近50篇），其中在ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering、JournalofCleanerProduction、Journal of the European Ceramic Society、Materials and Design、Materials Science and Engineering A、Journal of Alloys and Compounds、Ceramics International、Materials、International Journal of Refractory Metals and Hard Materials、Journal of Materials Science、Materials Characterization、Journal of Nanoparticle Research、Advances in Applied Ceramics、Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics、Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials、New Journal of Chemistry、Journal of Rare Earths、Transactions of Nonferrous Metals Society of China、HKIE Transactions等近20个重要国际国内学术期刊发表论文30余篇。申请国家发明专利17项，目前已授权9项。研究成果出版学术专著1本，获2012年海南省科技进步一等奖1项。此外，目前为JournalofCleanerProduction、Materials and Design、Materials Science and Engineering A、Waste Management、Journal of Alloys and Compounds、Powder Technology、Materials Characterization、Journal of Applied Physics、Nanoscale Research Letters、Journal of Experimental Nanoscience、Journal of Materials Engineering and Performance、Particulate Science and Technology、Materials Research、中国有色金属学报（中英文版）、粉末冶金技术等10余个国内外学术期刊的长期审稿专家。
