马如云,1997年在兰州大学获得博士学位,同年破格晋升为教授。1998年—1999年美国康涅狄格中央州立大学(CCSU)访问****。2004年—2005年澳大利亚昆士兰大学(UQ)访问****。现为西北师范大学数学与统计学院教授、博士生导师、美国《Math Review》及德国《Zentralblatt Math》评论员,中国数学会第十二、十三届理事。已培养博士18名、硕士50余名。

主要研究方向是微分方程解的分歧、线性微分算子和差分算子谱理论。在科学出版社出版专著《差分方程理论及其应用》、《非线性常微分方程非局部问题》和《线性微分方程的非线性扰动》;在《Journal of Functional Analysis》、《Journal of Differential Equations》、《Discrete and Continuous Dynamical Systems》、《Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Physik》和《Linear Algebra and its Applications》等SCI刊物上论文发表100余篇。入选Elsevier发布2014-2019年中国高被引****榜单。至2020年11月,其论文已被SCI刊物引用2866次。

主持国家自然科学基金项目7项;主持省部级项目8项。作为牵头人,荣获甘肃省自然科学奖一等奖1次、甘肃省自然科学奖二等奖4次、甘肃省科技进步奖三等奖5次、甘肃省高校科技进步奖一等奖6次。荣获教育部优秀骨干教师、甘肃省优秀专家、甘肃省名师奖及甘肃省园丁奖。2012年起享受国务院颁发的政府特殊津贴;2014年获中国侨界贡献奖。2015年荣获秦元勋数学奖。2009年入选甘肃省科技领军人才第一层次;2009年国家入选“新世纪百千****才工程”。
