Jari Korhonen obtained his PhD from Tampere University of Technology (TUT), Finland, in 2006. He has experience in working both in the industry and in the academia, including Nokia Research Center, Finland, école polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Norway, and Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Denmark. He has supervised and advised students at BSc, MSc and PhD levels in several countries.He has worked on several research topics, such as error resilient coding and transmission techniques for audio and video streaming, local backlight dimming techniques for liquid crystal displays, methodologies for subjective visual and audiovisual quality assessment, and development of objective video quality metrics. His current research interests cover both general aspects and specific research problems in Quality of Experience (QoE), for example no-reference assessment of capture artifacts in consumer photos and video sequences.
