邓永红博士于2003年12月毕业于清华大学, 获工学博士学位;2004年1月在清华大学高分子所做博士后,之后于2007年1月赴美国劳伦斯伯克利国家实验室做博士后;2008年12月成为华南理工大学化学与化工学院副教授,2014年9月晋升为教授,博士生导师;2016年6月加入南方科技大学材料科学与工程系,副教授岗位,教授职称,博士生导师。
邓永红博士的研究兴趣包括:功能聚合物材料的分子设计、自组装和应用研究;复合型固态聚合物电解质的制备和性能研究;锂离子电池用新型能源材料的研究开发。
邓永红博士主持基金7项;共发表文章100多篇,获得专利10多件;参编专著1部;作为主要完成人获得广东省科学技术进步一等奖和教育部自然科学二等奖。
