个人简介

章典，博士，教授，博导，国家特聘专家，国家重大人才工程项目获得者。1991年毕业于英国曼彻斯特大学地理学院取得哲学博士学位。现任广州大学****领军教授。
章典教授长期从事地貌及自然环境研究和教学，先后在英国曼彻斯特大学、西印度群岛大学和香港大学任教和研究，从事教学工作已超30年，先后在中国、欧洲及美洲等地的大学任教超过20个科目。主持科研项目30余项，在SCI和SSCI国际刊物上发表论文120余篇，其中超过40篇均发表在相关专业排名前十位的学术期刊，包括世界顶级科学刊物《科学》（Science）和《美国科学院院刊》(PNAS)。在最近10年中，他被香港政府授予“杰出****” (Prestigious Fellow) 的称号，被香港大学授予“杰出研究****奖”，“最佳研究著作奖” (两次)。香港亚洲电视按其学术贡献为其拍摄了“影响世界的中国人”专题片(40分钟)，全世界共有25位华人获得该项荣誉。
章典教授的科学研究涉及世界各个地区，是一位横跨多学科的创新性研究****。其研究领域包括地球科学、地理学、环境学、考古和人文科学。他在青藏高原发现的19个古人类手印和脚印，彻底否定了青藏高原最后冰期的大冰盖理论，证实了人类最早居住在高原的年代。在最近15年来，章典教授开创了应用社会数据和气候数据来研究气候变化与人类社会响应的研究方向，第一次定量地证明了在全球、欧洲和中国尺度上，人类历史上的战争、朝代演替、饥荒、疾病的爆发和气候变化的密切关系，并进一步通过因果分析，证实了气候变化通过影响农业生产和农业经济，最终导致了饥荒、社会动乱、移民、传染病、营养水平、战争和人口变化的链式因果关系。这些成果多次发表在《美国科学院院刊》上，并引导了数以千计该方面文章的发表，在国际上成为该领域的创立和领导者。在地学和环境学领域中，章典教授的碱雨理论、地表钙华沉淀理论和青藏高原大地貌的构造控制理论，到目前为止对这些研究领域仍有着指导意义。
