1963年11月生，博士。1984年7月获中国地质大学（武汉）地质学理学学士学位。1987年7月和2001年7月分别获该校构造地质学理学硕士学位和矿产勘探专业（石油构造分析方向）工学博士学位。2001年10月-2003年9月在中科院广州地球化学研究所从事博士后研究工作，出站后留所工作。主要研究领域有区域地质、构造地质、沉积和岩相古地理等。主要研究成果包括：（1）在峨眉山大火成岩省的形成机制、地幔柱动力学过程及其地质响应等方面，取得了一些有意义的科研成果。在世界上首次证实大火成岩省玄武岩喷发前地壳发生公里规模的穹状快速抬升，初步证实了峨眉山地幔柱存在规模较大的岩浆底侵作用，提出了峨眉山玄武岩喷发与End-Guadalupian生物灭迹事件的时间耦合关系，这些成果也对上扬子西缘的地质构造演化如“攀西裂谷”、东吴运动和攀西地区的壳幔结构等重要地质问题提出了新的认识；（2）对北京西山房山岩体岩浆底辟的厘定为花岗岩上升和定位研究提供了一个范例，对北京西山的构造研究提供了一个新思路。近几年来主持中国科学院知识创新工程前沿项目3项，面上基金1项，作为主要成员参加创新群体研究科学基金（40421303）中国科学院知识创新工程项目（KZCX2-101）、国家自然科学重点基金（40234046）。共发表论文30篇，其中国外SCI文章12篇，国外SCI第一作者5篇。
