Pratt joined the faculty of the School of Journalism and Communication at GDUFS on January 1, 2019. He is also a professor in the Lew Klein College of Media and Communication at Temple University, USA. He is a former president of the Faculty Senate of Temple University. His research focuses on communication for international, national and regional development, particularly in emerging economies; on international and strategic communication; and on crisis-communication management. He now spends considerable time talking and writing about China’s Belt and Road Initiative. He holds a PhD from the University of Minnesota—Twin Cities, USA; and accreditation (APR) by the Public Relations Society of America. Two personal asides: Pratt is addicted to nuts and crackers; he is the father of two sons, both board-certified surgeons.
