Dr David Berry is an academic and writer based in Southampton, UKand specialises in Journalism and Media Communication. David began his working life in industry before teaching at the University of Glamorgan in 1994. He also taught at Cardiff University and Bristol University before moving to Solent University in Southampton in 1997. David recently taught at the British University in Egypt (BUE) in Cairo.

David is an internationally recognised scholar in Journalism and Media Communication and has published the following books：

David is due to publish his first children’s book in 2021, and is currently writing an historical novel on the Tolpuddle Martyrs in early 19th century England. He also keeps a blog mostly documenting concepts in journalism and media and is currently creating journalistic articles for Shorthand.
David gained his PhD in 2006 in News Representations of the Press from the University of Glamorgan.
