Weifen Zhuang is currently a Professor of Department of Management Science, School of Management, Xiamen University (XMU). She is also the Director of the Research Center for Operations Management in Business and Healthcare. Prior to joining XMU in 2011, she was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Desautels Faculty of Management, McGill University, Canada, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She received her PhD in Operations Management from Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and her MS and BS in Computational Mathematics from Xiamen University.


Prof. Zhuang’s research interests mainly lie in two areas - Pricing and Revenue Management, Data-Analytics and Decision-Making in Business, Health and Medicine. She had published research papers in academic journals such as Production and Operations Management, European Journal of Operational Research, Journal of Operational Research Society, Journal of Revenue and Pricing Management, Maritime Policy & Management, Operations Research Letters, and IEEE journals.She is a frequent reviewer for academic journals and grant agencies. She had received several awards for research excellence, i.e., the second prize of the Outstanding Achievement Award for Social Science of Fujian province (2019), the second prize for the Progress in Science and Technology of Xiamen (2016).Shehas rich consulting experiences and close collaborations with airlines, hospitals, health commission, medical security bureau and data science center.


Prof. Zhuang teaches Operations Research, Pricing and Revenue Management courses in English for undergraduate students, Stochastic Dynamic Programming and Contemporary Issues of Operations Management for postgraduate students. She had won several awards for teaching excellence, i.e., the First Prize of the teaching competition in English of Xiamen University (2012), the Best Teacher Awards of Department of Management Science (2012).
