吴正茂,男,汉族,出生于江西省婺源县,籍贯:江西余干,民革党员。博士,教授(二级岗),博(硕)士生导师/博士后合作导师,享受国务院政府特殊津贴专家,重庆市学术技术带头人,西南大学物理科学与技术学院院长。本科、硕士和博士均毕业于四川大学。学术兼职:西南大学校学术委员会委员;重庆市光学学会第四届理事会副理事长;等等。社会兼职:曾任九/十届全国青联委员、二/三/四届重庆市政协委员、西南大学工会兼职副主席等。
长期从事激光非线性动力学及其在信息技术领域应用方面的研究工作。已主持包括4项国家自然科学基金面上项目在内的国家及省部级相关科研项目10多项;在国内外主流学术刊物上发表论文200余篇;申请或授权国家专利10余项,2项成果获重庆市人民政府自然科学奖,已培养博士后、博/硕士生70多人。主要承担激光原理、光通信进展等课程的教学任务。
