主要从事区域生态、全球变化和碳循环以及退化生态系统重建等方面的研究工作。先后主持国家“十五”攻关、“十一五”支撑、农业成果转化项目、“973”项目专题、国家自然科学面上基金和欧盟合作项目等。目前在研项目有5项。获2003年度教育部自然科学一等奖(排名第四)和2007年度甘肃省科技进步二等奖(排名第四)。近5年来发表论文40余篇,主要代表性论著有:Liu Guohua, Liu Zhanfeng, Wu Gang, Dai Limin.
