  方晓红,1968年8月出生于湖南省。1990年毕业于武汉大学化学系,获学士学位。1993年和1996年分别于北京大学化学系获硕士学位和博士学位。1997年4月至1998年3月在加拿大滑铁卢大学化学系做博士后。1998年4月至2001年12月先后在美国佛罗里达大学化学系、生物技术中心及生物/纳米技术交叉研究中心做博士后、助理研究员。2001年4月入选中科院百人计划,2001年12月回国工作,任中国科学院化学研究所分子纳米结构与纳米技术重点实验室研究员,博士生导师。

    从事生物物理生物化学分析,发展在单分子和单细胞水平上的高灵敏度的生物医学分析新方法,应用扫描探针显微技术对生物分子进行表征,操纵和研究生物分子的相互作用。在研制用于DNA、蛋白质实时检测的新型荧光探针,单分子光学成像和在单分子水平上研究生物分子相互作用等方面取得了一些较高水平的成绩:
 
(1)发展新型DNA核酸识体和分子信标荧光探针并用于DNA、蛋白质相互作用的研究和蛋白质的检测;
 
(2)首次利用光纤探针进行单分子荧光成像;
 
(3)利用扫描探针显微技术研究DNA/蛋白质单分子相互作用力。在JACS,Anal. Chem.,Angewandte Chemie, Nucl. Acid. Res.等杂志上发表论文50多篇。
