主要从事高脂血症,糖尿病,肥胖,动脉硬化及炎症等研究,特别是在遗传因素及环境因素与心血管病的关系方面的研究领域,世界上首次开发研制转基因家兔模型,应用先进分子生物学技术,发现脂蛋白脂酶,C反应蛋白,细胞外基质蛋白酶12 (MMP-12)等蛋白与心血管病发生的关系。已发表SCI文章120篇,其中含IF>10的论文有6篇(包括2篇Proceeding of National Academy of Sciences, USA, 1篇Journal of Clinical Investigation, 2篇Circulation, 1篇Circulation Research)IF>5的论文有33篇。日本专利授权2项。
