研究领域主要从事气候变化影响与适应研究，近年来在气候变化对农业生态系统过程与格局、气候变化未来风险的集合概率预测与不确定性以及适应气候变化技术与对策等方面开展了大量工作。尤其是在气候变化影响与风险评估方法方面，通过集合概率预测的方法，开展了气候变化对我国主要粮食作物产量和水分利用的影响评估和不确定性分析。

受美国科学院院士Emilio F. Moran 教授邀请，于2015.3-2016.3赴美国密歇根州立大学（Michigan State University）全球变化与对地观测中心（Center for Global Change and Earth Observations ，CGCEO）开展访问合作研究，参加贝尔蒙特土地利用与粮食安全项目（Belmont Land Use and Food Security Project）。

参加由哥伦比亚大学、佛罗里达大学、华盛顿大学等多家国际知名机构发起的国际农业模型比较与改进项目（International Agricultural Model Intercomparison and Improvement Project, http://www.agmip.org)，并组织实施Ag-MIP-East Asia研讨会（October 9-11, 2013, Beijing）。
