白国平，男，博士，教授，博士生导师。1963年生，河北容城人。1984年毕业于华东石油学院石油地质专业，获学士学位，1992年从澳大利亚悉尼大学获博士学位（地质学）。1992.4-1994.3在澳联邦科学工业研究组织（CSIRO）石油资源研究所做博士后研究。1994.4-1999.3就职于美国犹他大学能源地学研究院，任助理研究教授。1999年4月回国，就职于盆地与油藏研究中心。现任《古地理学报》编委、《Journal of Petroleum Science and Engineering》特约编委、美国石油地质家学会（AAPG）会员。国外期间主要从事碎屑岩成岩作用、流体演化史和储层评价研究工作，回国后主要从事国外含油气盆地、区带和区块石油地质的合评价、全球油气分布以及储层地质学的研究和教学工作，为研究生、本科生主讲双语《全球油气分布》和《专业英语》等课程。获国家科学技术进步二等奖一次和北京市科学技术一等奖一次，发表第一作者论文20余篇，出版专著一部。
