1984年毕业于长春地质学院地质系,1992年获博士学位,1993年5月-1995年4月在中国科学院地球化学研究所做博士后,1995年5月始在中国地质科学院地质力学研究所任研究员,现任极地地质研究室主任,中共党员。《地质力学学报》(1998-)、《极地研究》(2009-)、《Advances in Polar Science》(2009-)和《Journal of Metamorphic Geology》(2013-)杂志编委。曾参加中国第15次(1998-1999年)、第21次(2004-2005年)、第24次(2007-2008年)和第29次(2012-2013年)南极考察,2003年11月-2004年8月在台湾大学地质科学系做访问****(客座副研究员),2006年2月-2006年5月在香港大学地球科学系做访问****,2009年12月-2010年11月在中央研究院地球科学研究所做访问****(客座研究员)。主要研究领域为造山过程的岩石学记录,主要研究区域是国际瞩目的以高压/超高压变质作用为特征的桐柏-大别造山带和以高温/超高温变质作用为特征的东南极普里兹造山带,在桐柏-大别高压/超高压岩石的热结构、保存与剥露机制、增生-碰撞过程以及东南极麻粒岩演化、多期构造热事件识别、冈瓦纳超大陆拼合过程等方面取得了一系列成果。曾主持国家和省部级科研项目17项,在中外学术刊物上发表论文100余篇,其中被SCI收录60篇,合著专著4部。
