太阳风湍流被认为是太阳风加热的能源,是影响对空间飞行有伤害作用的日球层高能粒子传播的媒介。然而,太阳风湍流的本质仍不清楚,其核心的研究课题是能量串级机制。太阳风湍流谱各向异性现象目前被认为表征太阳风湍流存在“临界平衡串级”。可是,我们发现间歇强度对谱各向异性程度有控制作用。利用WIND、Ulysses和Stereo等卫星高时间分辨率的等离子体和磁场数据,我们研究了太阳风高速流中小尺度间歇结构的本质及其加热效应和对湍流谱各向异性的影响,主要发现包括:1. 太风湍流小尺度(24秒)磁场间歇结构主要是旋转间断面类型的结构,只在极少数情况下是切向间断面类型的结构。这一工作纠正了磁流体湍流数值模拟中认为切向间断面类型的电流片是主要的磁场间歇结构的看法。2. 切向间断面类型间歇结构伴随有局地质子温度的升高,而旋转间断面类型的结构则没有。由于切向间断面类型的间歇结构只占磁场间歇结构的极少数,因此,统计来说磁场间歇结构对太阳风的加热效应并不明显。这一结果纠正了一些文章关于磁场间歇结构是太阳风加热的主要来源的错误认识。3. 磁场间歇结构控制磁场谱的各向异性特征,且太阳风湍流中没有支持临界平衡串级理论的观测证据,从而质疑了学术界的流行观点:认为功率谱的各向异性表明太阳风中存在临界平衡串级过程,为谱各向异性的起源提出了新的可能性,开辟了太阳风湍流串级机制研究的新方向。
