个人简历 Personal resume


My research interests focus on the components and structure of the inner 4 kpc of our Galaxy. Studies of this region of the Milky Way provide us with a better understanding of the formation and evolution of our own galaxy and of galaxies in general. The Galaxy consists of various components with different dynamics and structure and nowadays it is well established that it is a barred spiral galaxy of morphological type SBb. Evidence for the existence of the bar comes from observations of both gas and stars. However, the properties of the bar such as elongation, thickness and viewing angles are still poorly constrained, as well as its relation to the disk and spiral arms. It is difficult to properly map the large-scale morphology of the Milky Way, mainly because we observe it in a non-linear projection and because interstellar extinction strongly hampers an unbiased view of its stellar content.Large and deeper infrared surveys such as DENIS, 2MASS, ISOGAL, MSX, GLIMPSE, WISE, UKIDSS, etc... have individually resolved several thousands of late-type stars and young stars towards the inner Galaxy. This enables us to have new insights into stellar population characteristics and their spatial distribution. Keywords of my latest research: late-type stars, stellar clusters, associations, massive stars, red supergiants.

It is desirable that the student has had a course of astrophysics and astronomical technique.Due to the large amount of already available Galactic data and forthcoming data, any work should be based on these big surveys of the Milky Way. Several topic can be covered on the basis of the student interest and creativity.Thesis should be made of at least 5 chapters (including the introduction). The chapters may be independent one to another and should lead to a science publication.
